Thoughts on direct air carbon capture?

£100 million directed toward this tech thanks for Dominic Cummings. My thoughts are; it’s currently uncompetitively expensive, nature is a better solution and we should be doing way more to mitigate carbon from buildings and energy…

I’m an engineer, and all for technology, but I can’t help thinking: How would this compare with investing the same amount in restoring wetlands, bogs and forests?

I know… I can see the benefit of having some of the IP of this technology, but that ship has sailed especially with the Gates’s putting in so much money…
