Reducing environmental impacts from flying - less, offset or new tech?

There has been a lot of discussion in the media about flying with the expansion of Heathrow alongside the ongoing attention around climate change. There has also been news of the development of new electric aircrafts and KLM, The Dutch Airline, actively encouraging people not to fly.

There are also some really interesting innovations like Climate Perks which is getting employers to give perks to employees if they don’t fly when they go on holiday. We have also had quite a discussion about carbon offsetting - this could be a viable alternative.

The trend is mostly, let’s reduce air miles, go on holiday in our country or by train.

What do people on Better Century think - less, offset or quickly deploy new tech?
