This topic came up at our Low Carbon Homes event in Manchester on Thursday. It’s an important point in terms of motivating factors for homeowners. Those with high value properties arguably have much more to gain from investing in large scale full-retrofit energy efficiency measures. We discussed how local interventions might address this by supporting those who have the ambition to retrofit, but lack resources and know-how. Regional ECO and RHI schemes got most interest, along with stamp duty and council tax incentives.
