I’m very excited about a new project where the Green Stories project is teaming with Herculean Climate Solutions and the Climate Fiction Writer’s League to compile an anthology of short stories that showcase real and potential solutions to the climate crisis to hand out to delegates attending COP27 in November 2022, see [https://www.greenstories.org.uk/anthology-for-cop27/]
The plan is to create a free anthology of short stories that are fictional, but showcase real/potential green solutions, so delegates and attendees can read the story & think, ‘yes, I can help make something like that happen in my country’. We have a mix of winning stories from previous green stories writing competitions which will be adapted with input from climate experts, some being written now by experienced writers, also Kim Stanley Robinson, the best-selling author of Ministry for the Future has agreed to let us include one of his chapters for the anthology.
I’m keen to get some expert opinions on the ideas so I can steer writers to the best stories asap, so if you can help, please complete this short survey [https://southampton.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6llCRG9ABWRnjy6]. Any topics that aren’t in your area of expertise, leave blank and feel free to forward onto other experts who may be able to help. Please also share with any experienced writers who may be interested. We’re up against the clock!
Cheers
Denise
