I love the courses on brilliant.org. I have just started this one on Solar energy and I’m loving it soo much that I want to share it with you all. 
I would totally recommend it for anyone who likes to understand the science behind renewable energy.

This course is full of little quizzes like this.
I love this sort of “back of the envelope” calculation. The surprising result of this sort of thinking is that there is as sustainable rate of fossil fuel use. The bad news is that we currently use something on the order of 4 x 10^20 J of fossil fuel per year. This is roughly 2 million times faster than the sustainable rate of consumption.
